Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that gently removes the top layer of dead skin cells from the epidermis. At Smooth Solutions this procedure will be performed by a highly trained staff member using physician-strength cosmeceuticals. Also known as “particle resurfacing,” Microdermabrasion is a simple and painless procedure that rejuvenates the skin by removing the dead cells.
Using a handheld device that blasts tiny particles of sand-like crystals against the skin, the aesthetician is able to loosen the dead skin cells so that they can be vacuumed away.

The procedure takes between 20 to 30 minutes for express treatment and right at an hour for a full service treatment, both will leave your skin with a healthy radiant glow. Microdermabrasion is the perfect compliment to your at home skin care regiment and is a simple way to maintain your healthy skin. Predominantly performed on the face, however the procedure can also be used on the neck and chest.

Microdermabrasion is a painless procedure that does not require any anesthesia and requires no recovery time. A slight pinkness to the skin may appear but it generally fades within one to two hours causing no interruption to your day. Unlike other treatments, Microdermabrasion will not adversely lighten or darken black skin.

To ensure the best results, five to ten treatment sessions are recommended every two to three weeks. Typically around the fourth or fifth sessions patients tend to really see a difference. Often physician prescribed medical strength skin care products will be recommended for use between treatments to achieve optimal results. Upon completion of your treatment, we will finish with Vivite Aftercare. Sun Protection and Vivite Replenishing Hydrating Cream, which has powerful antioxidants to help moisturize and protect the skin from damaging free radicals.

Once the initial treatment period has ended, it maybe recommended that you come in every few weeks for occasional treatment depending on the state and condition of your skin along with your desired results. Contact us today to find out if Microdermabrasion is the right procedure for you.
